After six years, the Alor Star High Court cleared four of drug-related charges.

ALOR STAR: On Thursday, the Alor Star High Court cleared all four men who had been convicted of a drug-related felony in 2018—regaining their freedom after nearly six years.

Judge Evawani Farisyta Muhammad of the High Court cleared the four accused—Ahmad Fauzi Sulaiman, 48; Muhammad Zaidi Mohd Salleh, 52; Muhammad Fakulrozi Mat, 33; and Abdul Halim Samat, 28—after discovering inconsistencies in their case.

The judge declared that there was a break, if not a compromise, in the chain of information pertaining to the evidence in the case. She also brought up the fact that the prosecution had not provided the court with an explanation for the situation.

The four, who were residents of Pendang, Kedah, were taken into custody on August 26, 2018, at an address that was not given.  Read More
